Why Would I Want To Dive In The UK?

The Koln In Scapa Flow
Simply, because some of the best diving in the world is in the UK. The UK has been a maritime nation for centuries, and the coast is littered with wrecks. Wrecks from the Spanish Armada, World War I and II, and merchant wrecks caused by bad weather. The wrecks are beautiful in themselves but they also attract huge amounts of life, providing interest for the iron huggers and the fish fanciers.
The UK is also teeming with sea life: lobsters, coral reefs, anenomes, eels, octopi, seals, crabs, nudibranch, dolphins. All this and more is there waiting to be discovered on your doorstep. They're not always easy to find - as in say the Red Sea, or Thailand - but the satisfaction is all the more for having to discover them for yourself.

Isn't It Cold?
Yes and No! Yes, it's not as warm as other places, but No because we wear suitable clothing. We wear a dry suit, which keeps our body warm, gloves which keep our hands warm, and a hood that keeps our heads warm. Suitably protected it's not cold, just refreshing...
There's no such thing as bad weather
There's just the wrong clothes- Billy Connolly
In the summer in the UK, the water temperatures of inland sites get as warm as 20°C, sea sites 18°. That's as warm as the med in spring/early summer. Toasty Warm!
