Well, after an early start 5 cars and the van set off with Nick kindly diverting to pick up James who had been waiting for 35mins for a bus without one turning up. Also Edward drove round to pick up Dispina who had left her Diving card.

We all arrived safely at The Delph, the van arriving first having flown over the M62, with everyone else following. Although Chris Millen who left first, arrived last saying he had left his tom tom at home and had taken a few extra turnings.

After everyone had registered and some people tried on dry suits who had not managed to get one, a briefing was given and then everyone eagerly kitted up and went diving in the lovely Delph which was t a nice tropical temperature of 10 degrees C.

All the converts seemed to enjoy their dives and quickly took to diving in the UK climate and dry suits. In between everyone tucked into the food provided and most people commented gratefully that all the sandwiches had been made up, and enjoyed a chance to warm up and replenish themselves.

Several comments were made at the lovely colours of the suits hired and Edward's lime green was very fetching with his bright yellow under suit! Also Ashlee's bright pink suit, together making the 2 best though some of the other hire suits were to say the least colourful!

Everyone then helped load up the van after washing the kit; then trying to pay the air bill via Credit card (which I had been told was possible ) but being told the air filling side only takes cash or cheques; so then finding the local cash point was not working, they let me pay via card in the dive shop, which is where I rang up to ask about payment in the first place!

Everyone raced home to get to Freedom divers to get the suits back before 6pm and avoid any further charges and thankfully none of the suits had had any major leaks either! All bar one car load of people then came back to stores to help unload and put away kit. Don't do it again or you will be named and shamed!

Thanks to all the instructors especially Nick for their time and help and everyone else for making this a successful trip.

Alistair.
