Saturday morning started off very well, Warm a little cloudy with the sun just
peeping through. As we all converge on the tiny parking bay at the side of the
lake, the water still as a mill pond, well it was until a rather excited Ruairi
followed by a even more excited Mr Bivins came bounding over the grassy mounds,
So the group complete pre brief and buddy pairs announced Nick and Dave first
in for the gnome hunt (too easy there is 3 gnome gardens apparently). With all
the dives/lessons complete and everyone safely back on land a quick sort out of
cylinders to get refilled courtesy of west Cumbrian BSAC then on to the Fleece
for tea and a well earned beer Sunday morning started a bit slower. I have a
feeling the B&B lady didn’t want us to leave but we
broke free, getting to the lake side a bit on the late side unfortunately
loosing the prime parking spaces to a Lancaster diving school
– bad news for good vis. But the weather was great better
than Saturday not so good sweating in dry suites though. A quick pre brief and
the 1st wave were in, the 2nd getting ready Lunch BBQ style on the beech yum
yum, then it was time for Mikeys PRM, I quite like it apart from towing Dave
20meters what felt like the length of Wastwater finally landed with the help of
Matt it was nearly me who needed BLS, Mikey did a great job. With everything
done we began to pack up, the trip took a lot of organizing mainly due to lack
of time and ever increasing numbers but I really enjoyed it and I hope everyone
else did. My thanks to every one involved especially Sam Elle Steve Dave and
Nick for giving your time up for me and the others. Robin
