So once again we see a whole host of PADIs and a random BSAC diver who don’t know how to use dry suits! But first is the Friday night revelry at Stackstead Farm. Everyone loves Stackstead, mainly because it is warm (unlike many other places) and has a lounge. First comes this job of making the sandwiches. Once again I failed attempting to ban Tuna and Cheese – it’s just not natural! Then came Martin’s discovery there are not rocky caramels, my reply of the just weren’t on offer just wasn’t good enough! Marshalling duties for me the next day!

Cock-a-doodle-doo is what awakes us! I’m going to kill that Cockerel one day! This was the lowest point of the weekend. The first thing is to make the Bacon butties (yes you heard it right, bacon butties on a dive trip). Always a good start to the day. We pack up and head to Capernwray, a change from Eccy Delph and a good choice to. The instructors then have the fun of showing out ‘little ones’ how to use a dry suit. Expect lots of flapping about and fast ascents and just general idiocy under the water. Surprisingly very few have any problems; this years intake have what it takes to brave British diving, even if they were a bit cold!

Next comes the evening full of chilli and the pub! The special was a sweet ‘mild’ Mexican chilli which ended up hotter than the ‘very hot’ chilli! Ooops! Then came the pub; where first we discovered something about Amy G didn’t know but really should of. Especially considering she likes that ‘spot’. We won’t mention it anymore here.

Then Bruce joined us along with his friends Dwayne, Shane, Wayne, hairy mate, hairy mate’s mate, whale and the count! And we then discover the Tom F makes for a very good whale!

Sunday came along with a lie in. Well a lie in for people who work for a living! 7:30. A quick clean and off to Capernwray for round 2. This day was mainly about pleasure diving and a little guidance on dive planning from the instructors. The day came to an end with everyone ;learning to use a dry suit and enjoying their first forays into British diving.
